SWOY SCHOOL COUNCIL

Our School Council is a group of students, who are elected by their peers, to represent the views of all pupils and to help improve our school.

This team of pupils is co-ordinated by Miss Whyte.

Each September pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 elect 2 representatives (one boy and one girl) from their class to become members of the School Council.  These elections will take place in the first week back and the first meeting will take place on Monday 17th September after school 3:15-4:15

School Council meetings will then take place every fortnight - dates for Autumn Term:

Monday 17th September 3:15-4:15

Monday 1st October - no meeting due to staff training

Monday 15th October 3:15-4:15

Monday 29th October 3:15-4:15

Monday 12th November 3:15-4:15

Monday 26th November 3:15-4:15

Monday 10th December 3:15-4:15

School Council representatives will have the opportunity to put forward any ideas for consideration at these meetings.  We will discuss any issues that pupils may have raised with their school council representatives.  All members of the school council will receive badges to wear around school.

What are our plans for the Autumn Term 2018?

Two children from each class from Year 2-6 will be nominated by their peers.  In the first meeting we will select a chair, vice chair, secretary and treasurer.  We will set an agenda for the term depending on ideas/issues raised at our first meeting.

We will continue to promote healthy eating programmes.

We will look at options for fundraising and social events to take place in school.

We will promote Anti-bullying week and Road Safety week
