Today, we took 10 minutes to hear the story of a young boy named Carlos Acutis.
He was born in London to Italian parents and from a very young age he had a huge devotion towards the Eucharist. At the age of 7 he made his First Holy Communion (after begging the priest) and would go to mass every day. Each day he would sit in front of the tabernacle to reflect. When asked why he did it, he told people 'when you sit in front of the sun, you get a suntan. When you sit in front of the Eucharist, you become more holy'. He believed the Eucharist was his 'highway to heaven'. He was a fascinating young boy who reported Eucharistic miracles and helped the homeless in his own time. He died at the age of 15 on the 12th October 2006 and is now due to be made a Saint.
We were amazed to hear how an ordinary child (the same age as many of us) is now going to become a Saint! Watch the video and see what you think.
