Happy New Year to all our Families,

We hope you enjoyed the festive break and are all keeping well!

School will be open from Wednesday 6th January for key worker children and vulnerable children only.

From Monday 11th January all the learning we do with the children in school will be available for you to access on Seesaw our remote learning site. Learning packs (containing the work that is available on Seesaw) will also be available from the school office in case of any internet problems.

Work will be updated each week and you will also be able to screenshot your child's work and send it back to me.

I look forward to speaking to you all next week however if you wish to message me before then please use Seesaw or the school office email.

We would like to welcome all of our families to St William of York Catholic Primary school, we are really looking forward to working with your child over the course of the year!

The children all look very smart in their new uniforms and have settled very quickly into full time school! We have had so much fun during our first few days!

General Information

Please ensure that all your child’s belongings (even shoes) are clearly named!

Over the course of the year we usually hold several information evenings:

A Reading and Phonics information evening and a Termly Parents evenings. Unfortunately we will not be able to hold these in our usual way but I will ensure that key information is shared with you during this term.

Brief messages can be passed on to staff at our classroom door or alternatively for more lengthy conversations please telephone the school office and leave a message we will return your phone call as soon as possible.

PE day - Formal P.E sessions will not commence until after October half term. Our P.E day will be a Thursday and all children will require pumps in the first instance and a clearly named PE Kit which will remain in school and be sent home for washing every few weeks.

Lending Library - All children will be encouraged to develop a love of stories and books. They will have the opportunity to choose 1 book at a time to share with you at home. Each book must be returned before another one is chosen. To limit cross contamination, we will quarantine books for 3-4 days before we reissue them.

Homework – After October half term all children will bring home a suggested homework activity. This activity may reinforce something we have been learning about in school or may involve a bit of research in preparation for an activity we complete in class. It will not be possible for us to send paper forwards and back, all feedback will be shared with your child.
