This half term, we were going to be reading Meerkat Mail by Emily Gravett! If you haven't heard the story before, don't worry, you can listen to it Youtube! Down below are some Meerkat Mail activities that you could complete at home this week. Enjoy!
Listen to Meerkat Mail using Youtube and use an atlas or Google Earth to explore the different places that Sunny visits.
Write up your favourite facts.
Can you pretend to be a character from the story? You could pick Sunny or Josey the Jackal. Write a short character description or pretend you are that character- think about what you can see, hear, smell and feel.
In school, we would have been learning lots about meerkats. Can you think of things you would like to know about meerkats and write questions?
Can you do lots of fun meerkat research using books around your house or the internet?
Can you write your own chronological report about meerkats answering important questions? Don't forget to use your questions as the sub-headings! Don't forget your full stops, commas in a list, exclamations and adjectives :)
