RE: Coronavirus (COVID-19)
At St William of York, we take the health and safety of our pupils and staff very seriously and, we wish to reassure you that measures are being taken in line with current advice from England’s Chief Medical Officer & the Department for Education’s official Guidelines to protect children and staff.
As a school, we continue to promote good hand and respiratory hygiene and respectively request that you support this at home too. Further advice and information can be found via this link.
If your child or member of your family develop symptoms, the whole family need to stay at home for 14 days from the onset of their symptoms.
Symptoms to look out for are:
• high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
• a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
Cleaning arrangements within the school have been further enhanced and regular checks of all toilets ensure that there is soap available at every sink area throughout the day.
All school activities will be closely monitored and, where necessary, events and activities will be postponed or cancelled. We will, of course, communicate any decisions as they arise.
We will continue to liaise with the local authority regarding our response to the virus and will provide updates as and when they arise.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to work together to provide a safe environment for our school community.
Mr M Murphy
