General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
You may be aware that from 25th May 2018, the rules around data protection are changing. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be introduced replacing the Data Protection Act 1998. The new regulation will ensure that all organisations keep your personal data safe, have rights to hold your personal data and it will strengthen your rights over your own data.
The point of this is to make sure sensitive or private information about yourselves and your children stays safe. Whilst it is similar to the current Data Protection Act in many ways, there are a few differences, so we need to make a few changes at school in order to ensure we remain compliant.
One of these changes is that we have updated our privacy notice. You can find a copy of this on our school website under Parents, Useful Information. Alternatively, you can request a paper copy by contacting the school office.
We already seek your consent on an annual basis for using photographs or videos of your child on our website & twitter feed, internal displays or within other school materials i.e. school prospectus. This consent remains valid for the duration of your child’s time at our school unless you tell us otherwise. If you would like to complete another permission form or have not filled one in previously, please request a copy from the school office.
If you have any questions about GDRP please contact Mrs Middlehurst, School Business Manager.
